Fiorella Insurance Agency has an exciting career opportunity for an Accounting Manager. The Accounting Manager will oversee the financial reporting monthly, analyze financial statements and lead the annual audit for the Agency’s financial statements.

What You'll Do

  • Oversight of financial reporting on a monthly basis.
  • Creates detailed general ledger schedules associated with the assigned profit centers to assist with audits, surveys, and tax return preparations.
  • Meets deadlines associated with the month-end close process of assigned profit centers.
  • Leads annual budget process and the development of forecasts for profit centers throughout the year.
  • Responsible for communicating with customers and vendors to answer questions and resolve discrepancies associated with the profit centers. 
  • Serves as the liaison between senior management and producers and the accounting department.
  • Works with senior management including the Region Controller and CFO and others to improve the profitability and growth of the Agency. 
  • Leads annual audit for the Agency financial statements.  Arranges for audits of company's accounts. Assists auditors and during audits by providing information and answering questions.
  • Responds to both internal and external customer information requests in a timely manner and ensuring customer satisfaction.
  • Analyzes financial statements in order to point out areas that can be improved upon for recording transactions, streamlining of procedures, and ways to increase the bottom line for assigned profit centers.
  • Prepares reports which summarize and forecast company business activity and financial position in areas of income, expenses, and earnings based on past, present, and expected operations.
  • Provides management with timely reviews of organization's financial status and progress in its various programs and activities.
  • Advises management on desirable operational adjustments due to tax code revisions.
  • Establishes relations with banks and other financial institutions.  Responsible for cash management and or administration of banking websites associated with the accounts linked to the assigned profit centers.
  • Follows company procedures with respect to all essential duties and responsibilities of the job.
  • Other duties as assigned.

 

What You'll Need

  • Minimum five to ten years related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance, Master’s degree in accounting or finance prefered.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have knowledge of Accounting software; Agency management software, Contact Management systems; Database software; Internet software; Spreadsheet software and Word Processing software.
  • Certified Public Account license preferred.
