Overview

Boon has an exciting career opportunity for an Accounting Team Lead. The Team Lead is responsible for the management of the team of accountants assigned to their team. Additionally, they are responsible for ensuring all accounting and reporting requirements for their assigned Plans/Trusts are fulfilled in accordance with all applicable contracts. The Team Lead trains, assigns, directs, reviews and coordinates the work of the team. They track, manage and communicate performance and attendance expectations.  The Team Lead works on complex assignments with limited supervision.

What You'll Do

  • Manages the day-to-day accounting functions of the team.
  • Establishes consistent and appropriate review and reconciliation procedures for all Plans.
  • Maintains detail procedures documentation for the review, reconciliation and accounting process.
  • Identifies and implements process improvements for individual team and department.
  • Reviews and approves all trust fund statements prior to distribution.
  • Manages to deliverable schedule set by management.
  • Assists with audit preparation and manages the trust fund audits.
  • Manages the preparation of tax filing information schedules.
  • Assigns responsibilities to team members based on skill levels, time constraints, and other business considerations.
  • Works with Accounting Manager to establishes goals and performance metrics for staff.
  • Train staff and supervise performance. Provide coaching and guidance.
  • Assists in the delivery of objectives supporting the accounting department.
  • Supervises assigned daily cash activities.
  • Follow the company policies and procedures required to comply with applicable data privacy and confidentiality requirements, including but not limited to SOC controls, and HIPAA Privacy and Security regulations.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
  • Monitor and analyze Financial accounting Data.

What You'll Need

  • Minimum of 7 years of previous accounting experience required.
  • 2 years of previous supervisory/management experience preferred.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting (or related field of study) required.
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices.
  • Previous experience working as an auditor or working directly with auditors.
  • Knowledgeable in cash and banking activities and the best practices needed to ensure our fiduciary role.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel and Outlook).
  • Knowledge of financial reporting.
  • Experience with Sage 100 ERP preferred.
