Overview

Boon has an exciting career opportunity for a Senior Accountant. The Sr. Accountant will be responsible for general ledger accountability, financial analysis, financial reporting and special reports, as well as financial profitability analysis and other special projects as assigned. These assignments will be moderately complex. The position works closely with other accounting personnel, internal departments, and external parties. The Sr. Accountant works with limited supervision.

What You'll Do

  • Compiles and analyzes financial information to prepare financial statements and supporting schedules.
  • Reconciles financial discrepancies by collecting and analyzing account information.
  • Reconciles and balances bank statements.
  • Guides accounting staff by coordinating activities and answering questions.
  • Recommends financial actions by analyzing accounting options.
  • Ensures all financial reporting deadlines are met.
  • Coordinates the ERISA Plan audits with external and internal parties (when assigned).
  • Assists with department overflow and maintains flexibility regarding work schedule.
  • Advanced experience in Excel, preferred but not required: dynamic reports with Pivot Tables and Task Automation.
  • Ad hoc assignments and special projects as required.
  • Follow the company policies and procedures required to comply with applicable data privacy and confidentiality requirements, including but not limited to SOC controls, and HIPAA Privacy and Security regulations.

What You'll Need

  • Minimum of 5 years of previous accounting experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of previous financial statement experience.
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting.
  • Experience in MS Excel (Intermediate).
  • Experience with Sage 100 ERP preferred.
  • Knowledge of GAAP accounting principles and practices.
  • Knowledge of financial reporting.
  • Good oral and written communication skills.
