Overview

The Account Executive will work with public entity insurance JPAs, which is a group of public entities, providing customer care, consulting and administrative support. The position will manage a variety of projects and tasks involving JPA operations. This person will be the primary point of contact and be responsible for developing strong client relationships to ensure timely results and overall client satisfaction.

 

Keenan, an Accretive company, is an insurance brokerage and consulting firm meeting the insurance needs of hospitals, public entities and California school districts. Keenan specializes in providing consulting services in the areas of: employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial, and property & liability.

What You'll Do

The Account Executive supports a minimum of three JPAs.

 

You will be responsible for:

  • Project Management: Building strong client relationships both internally and externally. Fielding questions, researching solutions and coordinating with stakeholders across the organization. Coordinating risk management training programs and managing a strategic plan.
  • Communications: Researching and responding to client and JPA staff coverage, governance and program questions. Keeping clients and colleagues informed on all important issues relative to the accounts. Assist in developing content for account websites, marketing material and the annual conference.
  • Administration: Coordinating both off-site and teleconference meetings including development of agendas and minutes. Attending meetings in person and presenting on topics as needed. Managing meeting deliverables, providing status updates, and maintaining client distribution lists.
  • Coordinate designated Super Pool Board and Committee meetings including meeting location, development of agendas and maintaining minutes.
  • Attend designated Super Pool meetings, presenting on various agenda topics.
  • Research and respond to client and staff regarding coverage, governance and program issues.
  • Keep Super Pool Manager informed on all important issues relative to JPA.
  • Manage various Super Pool risk management programs (i.e. Matching Grant programs, Environmental Health).
  • Participate in strategic planning meetings with designated Super Pools and manage the strategic plan.
  • Prepare policies, amend governing documents, and issue RFP’s on behalf of the designated Super Pool.
  • Ensure all designated Super Pools are in compliance with CAJPA Accreditation standards.
  • Develop designated Super Pool website content.
  • Prepare various Super Pool marketing materials i.e. newsletters, Annual Report, brochures.
  • Assist with developing regional educational workshops/symposiums for designated Super Pool.
  • Work with legal department and department heads to develop and prepare Keenan contracts (i.e. Management Agreements).
  • Maintain positive rapport with internal and external clients to maintain strong working relationships.
  • Meet deadlines and effectively handle multiple priorities.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Minimum two years of Account Management or equivalent experience. Insurance Industry preferred or the desire to learn about the industry quickly is a plus.
  • A four-year college degree is preferred.
  • Must have or obtain in first year of employment a California DOI Fire & Casualty license.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.
  • Strong problem-solving skills and a solutions-oriented approach.
  • Work independently and practice good time-management with strong attention to detail.
  • Strong computer skills, including, MS Office and ability to learn and use other applications.

Compensation:

 

The target salary range for this position is $70,000.00 to $75,000.00 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. Hybrid work environment flexibility.
