Overview

Assist in handling client calls and requests, typing correspondence, assembling agenda meeting packets, and other administrative duties.  

 

This is a hybrid position reporting to our Torrance, CA corporate office.

 

Keenan, an Accretive company, is an insurance brokerage and consulting firm meeting the insurance needs of hospitals, public entities and California school districts. Keenan specializes in providing consulting services in the areas of: employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial, and property & liability.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with client calls.
  • Manage incoming/outgoing mail and circulate or handle as required.
  • Distribute new claims from mail/set up new claim sheet and give to supervisor for assignment.
  • Compose/type correspondence (interoffice and client letters).
  • Create agenda packets for JPA meetings.
  • Assist in office administration (keep office supplied with needed work tools/materials).
  • Collect, assemble and distribute goodnite report to examiners. Send PLCA check totals from goodnite report to IMS Check Production for checks requested the previous day.
  • Read/code and set up all new claims in system and set up new files. Type and send out acknowledgement letter with each new claim. Maintain Torrance Assignment Sheet.
  • Separate and organize loss runs for mailing to clients and Keenan Offices by the 10th of each month. Maintain current mailing list/labels/memorandums for loss runs.  Filing of  loss runs in Loss Run Notebooks.
  • Input payment info into system for losses/expenses – post payment info in claim file. Upon receiving checks, match with file and send out check with appropriate invoice.
  • Request advance checks/stop payments and follow up with such requests.
  • Filing, including pulling of old files, recording and sending off site for storage.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Minimum of two (2) years administrative experience required.
  • Minimum of one (1) year experience in insurance preferred.
  • Must be organized and detailed oriented.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.  Adept at accessing business data from the Internet when required. Intermediate to advance knowledge of IVOS software is preferred.

Compensation:

 

The target salary range for this position is $45,000.00 to $60,000.00 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. Hybrid work environment flexibility.
