Overview

The Service Coordinator works alongside the Senior Account Manager and Consultant team to provide customer service support to clients, interact with vendors and clients to provide information in response to inquiries about products or services and resolve benefits related issues.

 

Keenan, an Accretive company, is an insurance brokerage and consulting firm meeting the insurance needs of hospitals, public entities and California school districts. Keenan specializes in providing consulting services in the areas of: employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial, and property & liability.

What You'll Do

  • Assist with daily account activities by providing administrative support to Account Management team.
  • Prepare literature, booklets, and complete internal procedures for installation of new cases.
  • Prepare open enrollment communications.
  • Complete administrative requirements for carrier.
  • Ensure data requests from vendors are complete and all information properly filed.
  • Resolve routine claims, eligibility, and billing issues.
  • Assist Account Management team to implement service procedures as required.
  • Prepare and maintain Insurance Reference Manuals.
  • Coordinate annual Benefits Fairs and Open Enrollments activities.
  • Attend and participate in team meetings as required.
  • Prepare required reports.
  • Maintain hardcopy and electronic filing procedures.
  • Assist with data gathering for renewals as needed.
  • Attend client meetings with Account Managers as required.
  • Maintain positive working relations with clients and carrier representatives.
  • Assist with mass mailing and other projects.
  • Develop excellent communications skills with clients, vendors and other internal Keenan staff.
  • Be sensitive to the proprietary nature of information relating solely to Keenan HealthCare clients, policies, etc., and be responsible for not divulging this information to anyone without a need to know.
  • Schedule and coordinate client appointments and/or conference calls
  • Attend monthly client service calls and take notes on activities/deliverable status changes.
  • Follow-up and track deliverables from client service calls.
  • Schedule annual luncheons/meetings with vendors and clients.
  • Assist Consultant/Account Manager with PowerPoint presentations and coordinate all production materials. Assemble all handout materials for meetings.
  • Maintain, update and track quarterly, monthly and annual reports on Northern CA account management log – follow up with appropriate party when reports are delinquent and send reminders prior to report due date.
  • Handle/assist to resolve eligibility and claims issues with vendors and provide follow-up to clients.
  • Prepare and update client and vendor contact lists.
  • Set logistics for all meetings, preparing all handouts, ordering lunches, providing directions to location and include conference room meeting details.
  • Attend open enrollment meetings/benefit fairs.
  • Follow-up with clients on overdue bills.
  • File, copy, and scan documents as needed.
  • Required to work in office 5 days a week in order to answer department calls when others are traveling or out of office on business.
  • All other duties assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Two (2) or more years of group insurance experience is preferred or general office or project management experience. 
  • Understanding of claims adjudication, eligibility/enrollment procedures, and billing reconciliation/premium calculations is preferred.
  • Insurance Life and Health Agent License through the State of California and must be maintained through continued education. Must be obtained within six (6) months of employment.
  • Must represent Keenan Healthcare with the highest level of professionalism, exhibit positive customer service attitude and possess excellent communication and organizational skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.  Adept at accessing business data from the Internet when required.

Compensation:

 

The target salary range for this position is $60,000.00 to $70,000.00 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. Hybrid work environment.
