Overview

Assist the Claims Manager with overseeing and managing the claims operations, staffing and managerial needs. Supervise employees work product through training, counseling and auditing work.

Keenan specializes in providing consulting services in the areas of: employee benefits, workers' compensation, loss control, financial, and property & liability.

What You'll Do

  • Provide regular follow-up to ensure high quality control standards.
  • Train all new staff on Keenan best practices; utilizing the KEEP training modules.
  • Provide and facilitate on-going staff training in compliance with AB 1262.
  • Prevention of penalties and maintenance of logs.
  • Timely excess claims reporting management to the Reinsurance Manager.
  • Oversee staff work performance and address personnel matters.
  • Approve reserves and claim reviews at $200K +.
  • Ensure PRIME deletions are referred only to PRIME.
  • Respond and follow through with internal and external audits.
  • Quarterly audit completion.
  • Pre-approval of claim denial.
  • Claims review, guidance and direction.
  • Special projects.
  • Travel as required.
  • Other duties as assigned.

What You'll Need

  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Senior Claims Examiner required.
  • Minimum of two (2) years of experience as a Workers’ Compensation Claims Supervisor required.
  • Self-Insurance Certificate (SIP) required.
  • Must have California Experienced Adjuster Designation and Post-Designation Certifications.
  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must be available for travel within designated territory and other areas as required.
  • Must be an effective self-starter, organizer, planner and leader requiring minimal supervision.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint and Word.  Adept at accessing business data from the Internet when required.

Compensation:

 

The target salary range for this position is $110,000.00 to $135,000.00 (US Dollar) annually. The actual salary will vary based on applicant’s education, experience, skills, and abilities, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data. The salary may also be adjusted based on applicant’s geographic location. Remote work environment flexibility but must reside in California.
