Overview

The Staff Accountant plays a pivotal role in AssuredPartners, gaining broad exposure to  various aspects of the company’s operations. This position contributes to the organization's success by ensuring accurate monthly accounting services, processing payables, and analyzing expense impact on financial  statements. Additionally, the role involves working with department budgets, identifying opportunities for process improvements, and maintaining month-end and quarterly supporting schedules. The Staff Accountant also 

assists in quarterly financial statement preparation, collaborates directly with external auditors, and supports  special projects as needed. 

What You'll Do

  • Prepare accounting entries based on various source reports, journals, and registers.
  • Process monthly accruals, amortization of prepaid expenses, and maintain fixed assets, including depreciation, adjusting, and reclassification entries. 
  • Manage vendor and premium payables monthly.
  • Review and process employee credit card transactions and expense reimbursements.
  • Support the month-end accounting process as needed.
  • Analyze financial records to detect and correct potential miscoding.
  • Apply sound judgment and common sense in decision-making.
  • Oversee assigned projects, prioritizing tasks to meet established deadlines.
  • Ensure all accounting objectives are successfully achieved.
  • Keep the VP of Agency Accounting informed of project statuses and identified issues.
  • Perform additional duties and special projects as assigned.

 

What You'll Need

 

  •  Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred., but not required. 
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience in business, finance, or accounting-related roles.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with strong analytical and communication skills. 
  • A positive, growth-oriented mindset with a strong emphasis on teamwork. 
  • Ability to multitask, stay organized, and effectively manage time. 
  • Experience working with General Ledger systems.
