Overview

The Director of Claims and Reinsurers is responsible for overseeing the overall function and performance of our Internal Programs, specifically through Third Party Administrators. This high-level leadership role encompasses people management, process and claims management, and customer-facing responsibilities.

  • Demonstrated leadership in claims operations and cross-functional team management.

  • Proven experience working with and overseeing Third Party Administrators.

  • Strong analytical skills to assess performance metrics and drive process improvement.

  • Excellent communication abilities, both written and verbal, with a customer-first approach.

What You'll Do

  • Manage and coordinate complex claims through Third Party Administrators across all insurance lines, including GL/PL, Auto, Property, EPLI, D&O, Crime, Cyber, and Workers' Compensation.

  • Ensure Third Party Administrators adhere to program-specific Service Instructions and compliance standards.

  • Oversee timely completion of claims activities, including follow-ups with insureds to ensure proper claims management.

  • Lead and actively participate in regular claim reviews with internal and external stakeholders.

  • Resolve customer claim issues in partnership with Account Executives and Producers.

  • Represent agency programs and services in meetings with customers and prospective clients, alongside Producers.

  • Collaborate with Carriers and Re-insurers on reporting, data sharing, and reimbursement activities.

  • Partner with organizational department heads to address general claims-related inquiries and process improvements.

  • Fulfill supervisory responsibilities, including recruiting, training, performance evaluation, work planning, and conflict resolution.

  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

  • Travel required approximately 10% required.

What You'll Need

  • Bachelor’s degree required, with a minimum of 10 years in the insurance industry.

  • 3–5 years of experience in management, director-level leadership, or equivalent training.

  • Valid Florida Property & Casualty Adjuster license.

  • Strong proficiency in:

    • Claim coverages and insurance industry claim processes.

    • Loss control and risk management theory.

    • Microsoft Office Suite and Agency Management software.

  • Professional designations preferred, but not required.
